The universal ball-also known as a universal transfer ball or "bullseye"-is an industrial conveying component consisting of a housing and a ball. Housing materials range from zinc-plated carbon steel and stainless steel to reinforced nylon, while the ball itself may be composed of carbon steel, bearing steel, or engineering plastics; through rolling action, these units enable objects to slide flexibly in multiple directions. Their modular design allows for the adjustment of distribution density and load-bearing capacity. Product categories include steel universal balls, plastic universal balls, steel balls, and steel ball roller assemblies, available in both metric and imperial sizes. Manufacturing processes encompass stamping, turning, and injection molding, while installation methods feature a variety of options such as flange-mount, press-fit, screw-mount, and adhesive-mount types. These components are widely utilized in the conveying, feeding, and processing systems-as well as auxiliary processing and packaging machinery-within industries such as electronics, hardware, machinery, chemicals, and food processing.

 

This technology has evolved gradually since the early 21st century, with structural innovations continuously driving performance improvements. Since the 2010s, companies such as Liuweilianhe have utilized patented technologies to optimize the design of dual-contact surfaces and assembly processes, thereby endowing these units with active drive capabilities. Post-2024, further patented innovations-such as raceway-style circulation structures and detachable elastic buffering systems-have served to further reduce wear and enhance ease of maintenance. Product load capacities span a range from 12 N to 5,500 N; specific models, such as heavy-duty universal balls, can support loads exceeding 5 tons, thereby meeting the demanding requirements of scenarios such as food processing and heavy-duty logistics.
